It all ends up on social media
The internet has come a long way. I was actually talking about this to a friend last night. Back in the 90s, we thought we were poppin’ with new technology such as the internet. But truth be told, old school internet has NOTHING on today’s innanet. It has solely become the form of communication that people use to vent or lash out about their recent frustrations. Celebrities are notorious for this. Though it’s a new year, there were so many meltdowns that occurred last year via social media alone. From Kanye to Future to Lupe Fiasco, we’ve got to remind you why 2016 was a year to remember.
2016 has been a tough year for the producer. His meltdown began at the top of the year on social media after Wiz Khalifa called him out for stealing Max B’s “waves” lingo and and titling his upcoming album as such before renaming it The Life of Pablo.
Kanye vs Wiz
After a misunderstanding, Kanye ensued on a super rant, hurling shots at Wiz, claiming that he’s the reason the “Black and Yellow” rapper is a father, referencing his breakup with Wiz’s baby’s mom and ex-wife, Amber Rose. He soon apologized for the misunderstanding between himself and Wiz. But what we didn’t know is that this was the only beginning to what would be Kanye’s most trying year ever.
Kanye vs. Everyone
After his little tiff with Wiz, Kanye made everyone his target. From rappers to industry greats to politicians to publications. “To Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, New York Times, and any other white publication. Please do not comment on black music anymore,” he tweeted. His rantings soon lead to concert and tour cancellations, and an emotional breakdown he experienced at the end of 2016.
