Keef can't keep cops off him
Chief Keef has become known more for his rap sheet than his raps. That’s why stories of his many, many warrants, arrests and brief stints in jail continue to make headlines while his most recent mixtape Thot Breaker caused barely a ripple in the wider world.
We can’t say we blame folks for looking in the direction they do. After all, Keef really does give them a lot of material to work with. Case in point, the constantly in legal limbo rapper just got hit with yet another arrest warrant. This time cops in California have Keef’s number, so at least he’s branching out from his typical stomping grounds in Cook County.
TMZ reports that the rapper was involved in a fender bender in Hollywood back in September. The responding officers found that Keef was driving on a suspended or revoked license, which earned him some time before a judge. Unfortunately, the man born Keith Cozart never bothered to show up for his court date. Now, the Cali cops are looking for him. You think he would have learned by now…
It’s the second widely reported arrest warrant with Keef’s name on it this year. He recently got snagged in a traffic stop in Miami Beach. Here’s how it went down:
On April 7th, Chief Keef and a friend were cruising down Miami Beach in a green Lamborghini. His friend got out of the passenger seat and approached the car behind them. Witnesses say Sosa’s friend interacted with the other car and it looked suspicious AF. (via HipHopMyWay’s previous report)
He failed to show up for his eventual court date, covering the Florida space on his arrest warrant bingo. Sosa’s label head Akin David said that they were keeping Keef safe.
“Keef’s crack legal team will work this out. In the meantime, Hologram USA is prepared to beam him in wherever he needs to go. Boldly, like no man has gone before,” he said.
Where is this crack team to keep him from getting in trouble in the first place? But we digress.
Keef was also arrested earlier this year for allegedly breaking into Ramsay Tha Great’s home and assaulting him with an AK-47. Funnily enough, fans were divided on whether to blame Keef for that or Ramsay for calling the cops.
“It’s real sad to see my Black community condone home invasion, armed robbery with a deadly assault, hitting me in the face with a AK-47. It’s crazy y’all condone that,” he wrote on Instagram after fans attacked him for snitching. “And now that he’s locked up cause he chose to make that stupid decision to come to my house and do that, I’m the bad guy for putting him in jail?”
Another rapper named Trav perfectly encapsulated the sentiment.
“This same guy that Chief Keef beat up, he was actin’ like a gangster,” Trav said. “I backed right out on him. Why you got a gun on you? What’s up with you? Who sent you here? Who you here with? Now he’s suing somebody. Look at this guy, this guy’s a sucker.”
What do you think? Will Keef ever keep himself out of trouble? Does he need to hire drivers and weed carriers? Will he ever have another hit? Sound off in the comments and be sure to SHARE this article.
