This is not fake news people!
Cardi B is mingling with A-listers now that her hit single “Bodak Yellow” has taken over the summer. Still, there are hitmakers, and then there’s the Queen. Even knowing that Cardi B had a number one record and was hanging around people like Migos and G-Eazy couldn’t have prepared you to learn that the regular, degular, schmegular girl has broken into the rarefied air of Beyonce collaborators.
A new post by Cardi’s engineer seems to hint that Cardi and the Queen are collaborating on a song that will wreck everyone’s lives the second it drops. Ashby posted a shot of his workstation to his Instagram story that appeared to show a collaboration between Bardi and Bey. In the shot, you can make out the words “Cardi B ft. Beyonce Demo,” and Ashby assured his followers that the collab was “gonna be big.”
A Change Of Pace
Cardi could use a win like this. She’s had a very rough month that involved being tossed out of a hotel in the wee hours of the morning. Cardi called the hotel staff (that booted her from an Albany hotel after accusing her of smoking weed) “racist” and explained what led to her getting the boot in a since-deleted Instagram video.
“The floor that I was staying in in my hotel room, it smelled like weed. So the cops came in the middle of the night, knocking on my manager and on my door, talking about that we were smoking weed and we gotta get kicked out. Now, if you know me, I don’t even talk about smoking weed because everybody knows that I do not smoke weed. I get very paranoid and none of my team members smoke weed. If they was to kick us out for something else, all right, but for weed? I’m not taking that because we do not smoke. I could get, we could all get drug-tested, nobody smokes. Nobody smokes, especially when I’m sleeping and I’m wild sick. You’re not going to do that to me. Mind you, everyone on the floor was Caucasian. But you wanna kick us out? F–k out of here. I will not.”
If that wasn’t enough, Cardi also nearly split from her beau Offset. However, she quickly apologized to the rapper and claimed that her decision to call the whole thing off was an overreaction.
“So listen babes, I exaggerated a lil bit earlier cause I was really upset and the Bronx girl in me always have to go to the extreme,” she wrote over a picture of Offset. “I came to me sense now. I’m sorry …waffle house on me?”
She went on to claim that Offset was a blessing.
“On a serious note, I really loveeeee my man,” she wrote on Twitter. “He was gifted to me from Jesus.”
Cardi needs to clear the air of all this weed and breakup talk and get people jawing about her new album; a Beyonce collab is certainly one way to do that. There’s no doubt that Cardi is rap’s It Girl right now, so everybody (all the way up to Beyonce) wanting a feature on the new album certainly isn’t out of the question.
