He got game, and taste.
Minnesota Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins has game. In 2014, he became the second Canadian to be the number one overall pick in the NBA draft selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers, before his trade. By April 2015, he had already made Rookie of the Year for the 2014–2015 season. And now, he’s a brand ambassador for adidas with his own shoe. At just 21 years old, he’s making major moves and has a bright career ahead of him.
So, where does he get his motivation from? It may have a lot to do with the music he listens to. The Toronto-born baller reveals that his musical taste has a major affect on his day-to-day moods and is very different from the average 21-year-old.
Last week, Wiggins made an appearance at the launch of adidas Athletics NYC and talked about his diverse musical taste. It ranges from old school to new school and even Drake made the list. From Styles P to Drake, he revealed that it depends on his mood, but when it comes to his game, it’s nothing but hardcore…
“Some days it be more smooth, some days it be more aggressive stuff. When I really want to get into it I’ll listen to Styles P, Jadakiss and DMX,” he said before breaking it down to the artists he listens to based on his ever-changing moods.
Smooth To Hardcore
“If I’m in a good mood already then it can be something smooth. I might listen to some Drake, maybe some AZ. If I’m not in a good mood, or we need to win this game, I’ve been playing bad, this is a big game for me…that’s when I put in that Styles P, that DMX.”
This sounds about right. All of these artists are pretty much legit when it comes to these types of moods. DMX is a must when you have to get your head in the game. Grrrr.
