As with most beefs in their beginning stages, the details of the issue between Joe Budden and Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) are a little murky. Though with two outspoken characters like these New York natives, the story will get told in full soon enough.
For now, all evidence leads to 50 being… irritated because Joe Budden spoke badly about Eminem. The rapper, actor, and general businessman sent a very direct message to Budden letting him know that he made a “mistake.”
Speculation and rumors aside, the fact is that 50’s one and only Instagram post of the day (Jan. 9) is a picture of Joe Budden. While there’s plenty of time left in the day for him to post more, 50 is probably busy preparing to carry out his threat to the former Everyday Struggle host.
Just yesterday, Eminem had the internet abuzz over his “Chloraseptic” remix. In the nearly five-minute track, Eminem sends some admittedly subtle heat Joe’s way.
Not only did Joe diss “Untouchable” back when he was still a part of the Everyday Struggle crew, he also slammed Revival before it even came out. Just by looking at the track list, Joe decided that Eminem’s highly-anticipated ninth album was trash. Like he does when he’s made up his mind about anything, the father-of-two then sat back with his arms crossed on camera, daring his co-hosts to challenge his opinion.
So, Slim Shady gave Joe everyone who judged his album by the cover (literally) a piece of his mind.
Eminem rapped on the song:
“Not as raw as I was, ‘Walk on Water’ sucks / B*tch, suck my d*ck / Y’all saw the track list and had a fit before you heard it / So you formed your verdict / While you sat with your arms crossed / Did your little reaction videos and talked over songs (chill!)/Nah, dog, y’all sayin’ I lost it, your f*ckin’ marbles are gone”
Then, D12 rapper Bizarre — who is signed to Eminem’s Shady Records — chimed in. Before calling Joe a “clown,” Bizarre tweeted: “Make sure u keep up that same Energy @JoeBudden dont get Quiet now.”
“Biz u ain’t spoke to Em in at least 10 years, u better relax ni**a before u make me angry,” Joe responded. A few threats between the two later, and 50 Cent, who has been notably close to Eminem for years, chimed in.
“That was a bad idea,” 50 began alongside his mugshot-type picture of Joe on Instagram. “Look you got a little ass whopping coming. It’s not a big deal, you will get over it.”
Paired with the lurking-eyes emoji and a date (Jan. 19), the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ actor added “#denofthieves.”
Joe’s playing it cool though.
“You entertain ni**as all the time now it’s a problem cuz you don’t like the content?” Twitter user @TheRealRudyK posted. “Where the jokes and wit now! You shouldn’t have dissed Em! Now you should apologize and we might spare u.”
User @delvin_cox chimed in, replying, “I don’t think you know Joe! This man will ruin his career to prove a point! Lol.” Joe himself replied to @TheRealRudyK, saying, “I LIVE for this.”
While others commented on how crazy it is that Joe stopped rapping just to earn himself more diss records than ever, the retired rapper ate the social media attention up.
