22 years ago today, Snoop Dogg released his debut album, Doggystyle, which has been argued as a classic project by the hip hop community. Since its release, Snoop has proved to be a staple MC in the game, as he has gone on to create a much larger legacy than just being simply a rapper with lyricism and an ear to the streets. The album may be 22 years old, but nothing about Snoop and his longevity is outdated.

The album has proved to be his stepping stone into the category of high talent in the game, and was the start of Snoop being one of the greats. Today, many have named Snoop as a West Coast King, and one of the main OG’s of rap. Being that he is still able to release albums and keep his relevancy in such an ever-changing genre and culture, Snoop is still not going anywhere anytime soon. While he may not have necessarily saw a multiple decade-long career ahead of him back in 1993, Doggystyle drove him into high speed for his long-lasting career, which has yet to slow down.
