This year, there is a lot of controversy surrounding the 2016 Academy Awards, which resulted in the viral hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. Every actor nominee for this year’s awards are white, while there were multiple black actors who were snubbed of the nomination, despite their roles being highly praised or critically acclaimed. With many celebrities boycotting, it reminds us of the past of when celebrities took to boycotting other awards shows.
