Lil Bibby Talks Getting Arrested Over 60 Times Between 14-21 & Twice in One Day
Lil Bibby is a rapper from Chicago’s “Terror Town” neighborhood in South Shore. Bibby got his name from playing basketball after a friend started calling him Bibby because of his shot, referring to former NBA player Mike Bibby. When his friend died, he adopted Bibby as his rap name. Lil Bibby grew up alongside fellow rapper G Herbo, who is also from the same neighborhood.
Lil Bibby was involved in street life before he started rapping, doing things such as selling drugs and jacking cars, and got locked up dozens of times before he was 21. Bibby got his rap career rolling when his friend Andrew Barber at FakeShoreDrive.com put together a collab mixtape of Lil Bibby and G Herbo (who was then called Lil Herb).
In 2013, Bibby released his debut mixtape, Free Crack. The following year, he was featured on the 2014 XXL Freshman Class. Lil Bibby went on to drop Free Crack 2 and Free Crack 3 before the end of 2015, and later released two EPs by March 2017. FC4 is expected to release in 2018.
