Artist Bio

Life of Zhae, born Azhae Jobes on March 3, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland, found his love for music at the young age of 8 years old. He recorded a song with his father, a former member of the Loud Boyz Muzic Group, on a “whim.” Music became an escape for the bullying that he was experiencing in school as a young child. At the age of 8, Life of Zhae was featured on a mixtape titled, KYS, with his song titled, “Fluid to the Fire.” While following in his father’s footsteps, the adjustments to his musical dreams was approached humbly and carefully by his parents, insisting that his education always remained his number one priority. Life of Zhae had many musical influences growing up in the hip-hop culture. As he gets older, his influences are geared towards the conscious hip-hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, while adding a little hip-hop/pop that Drake can deliver — all lyricists in their right. By listening to Life of Zhae, you can hear just a little of his influences in his music while creating a sound all his own. Life of Zhae began to accomplish many musical endeavors early. He completed his first release, “Life of the Party,” featuring Baltimore’s own Damon Blue, and has gain over 15k YouTube views, setting the stage for his anticipated hip-hop career. During the summer months, Life of Zhae, was invited to perform at social conscious events in Baltimore City, such as the “Bets Not Bullets Festival” and “Baltimore Cease Fire.” He even had the opportunity to travel to St. Louis to perform at “Put Down Your Guns & Pick Up Your Sons.” Shortly after these accomplishments, Life of Zhae was awarded the Bronze Song Award for “Young Hustle Hard: Life of the Party.” Life of Zhae doesn’t stop at music, he also has a passion for acting, appearing in short film productions at the Eubie Blake Center in Baltimore and enhancing his acting skill at the New York Film Academy. In 2018, Life of Zhae took the lead role in a short film titled, Tormentors, which targeted the bullying epidemic within the public-school system. Also, in 2018, Life of Zhae unleashed is second release, TOLSIK (The Only Love Story I Know), which features his hit Charlie Brown themed single “Good Grief,” which was inspired by the 8th day of a murder-free Baltimore City, during “Baltimore’s Cease Fire,” which has gotten national attention with the rise of Baltimore’s continued crime epidemic. The second single off TOLSIK titled, “Breathe,” offers another example of Life of Zhae’s creativity and willingness to be different. His raw lyrics accompany the bouncy head nod track like no other. TOLSIK has proven that Life of Zhae is a very special artist, stopping at nothing to chase his dreams. He is certainly becoming one of the hottest artists to rise out of Baltimore, yet.
