Today, March 23, DJ Big Boy’s YouTube channel uploaded an hour-long interview with Amber Rose, in which they discuss various hot topics related to her life. About twelve minutes into the interview, Big Boy drops a potent one-word question on Rose: “Single?”. She pauses.

In July 2017, Amber Rose officially announced her romantic involvement with 21 Savage. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rose let her followers know how she felt about the Atlanta-based rapper in the caption of a picture of the two coupled together:

“It’s pretty amazing waking up every morning feeling love like this. I’ve cried endlessly and been hurt a lot in my life, I’ve been abused, talked to like I wasn’t s—, been gaslighted and Slut shamed by men that I once loved and cared about. So I’m so thankful that God brought this amazing person in my life who genuinely has my back and is ready to ‘pull up’ to defend my honor by any means… Maybe he’s just as broken as me and that’s why we’re perfect for each other, but either way he’s not going anywhere and neither am I.”

The love was definitely reciprocated by 21 Savage as well. Around the same time Rose made that post, she made another one that included a clip of an interview that 21 Savage did with The Real After Party on Real 92.3. “She’s beautiful, right?” he said. “We’ve just been kicking it, man. She’s a real cool woman. She treats me like a king, so it is what it is. And no disrespect will be tolerated, at all. Keep your mouth closed, no h*es, no b***hes, no nothing, ’cause I’m pulling up.” Although the two have a significant age difference of nine years, 21 added that he was only younger on a physical level, not mental.

21 Savage proved his support of Amber through his attendance of Amber Rose’s 3rd Annual Sl*t Walk, an event Rose organized to bring attention to issues such as misogyny, slut-shaming, and other issues that females face. Not only did 21 attend, he helped lead the march by holding a sign that says “I’m a h*e too”. Now that’s dedication.

Still, all good things must come to an end. When answering Big Boy’s big question, she discussed how big of a role that public scrutiny played in putting stress on the relationship. Here was her response to his question:

“To be in a relationship is very difficult. To be famous and in a relationship is even more difficult, because you have teams, and people, and everybody feeding y’all both stuff… And then you wind up arguing about things that you wouldn’t usually argue about as a normal person. But I love him. I really love him, I miss him, I think about him every day. But to say that I’m single… I can’t say that I’m single because in my heart, I still love him [and] for me to say that I’m single means I want to go out and find something else, like I’m ready to mingle, and I’m not.”

As the interview progresses, Amber definitely makes it clear that she wants 21 back, but never fully goes into detail about what specifically happened to cause their split. Luckily enough, it doesn’t seem as though animosity is a big factor in their relationship as it stands. Do you think Amber Rose and 21 Savage will get back together?
