Each Wu-Tang Clan member has had success outside of the group, especially with Method Man, Ghostface, and Raekwon dropping memorable solo albums. The Wu-Tang Clan helped keep east coast relevant in an era when the west and south was starting to pick up steam.

N.W.A., short for Niggaz With Attitude, famously consisted of Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren. The group rose to prominence in the late 1980s, and was essential in the birth of west coast rap and gangster rap.

Despite their sky-rocketing popularity and their success in the music industry, the group broke up due to royalty disputes. After separating, success still followed the members, as Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Eazy E went on to experience fruitful solo careers.
