The hate on Travis Scott is pretty unreal right now. Let’s get one thing understood, Travis Scott isn’t adept at dropping punchy lyrics or blowing you away with his double-time flows. If you’re looking for Kendrick Lamar quality bars, go listen to Kendrick Lamar. If you want black empowerment type of records, go listen to some conscious hip-hop. (P.S., I love Kendrick Lamar.) But, there’s room for innumerable artists in this large room we call Hip Hop. What many fail to grasp about the Houston rapper is his eclectic ear and immaculate stage game. Artists like OG Maco, A$AP Nast, and even Rihanna’s writer publicly spewed venom towards Scott’s direction. Are their claims legit? Is Scott really overrated?

Travis Scott earned rave reviews for his album Rodeo. Kanye West’s protege has emerged into a viable go-to artist commercially as his debut endeavor landed number three its first week on the charts. In addition to that, Scott managed to churn out a platinum sounding banger in “Antidote.” So, it’s hard to dub Scott a fraud when he’s been able to achieve moderate to good success on the Billboard frontier.
Travis is a highly-touted performer. If you’ve ever been to one of his shows, you would understand the mayhem that ensures during one of his concerts. He smashes everything in sight. When he opened for The Weeknd’s tour, he demolished his set. He’s already being considered one of the better performers in the genre.
