Nas’ God’s Son album was made in the midst of his dark time, and while the song to his mother, “Dance” was a tearjerker, “Heaven” had everyone questioning their lives and the choice to go to heaven today.

The track came towards the end of the darker rap album, which reflected on the hardship that Nas faced after the death of his mother.
