Other African Americans’ that have won Academy Awards are Sidney Poitier for his role as Homer Smith in Lilies of the Field, Denzel Washington for his role as Alonzo Harris in Training Day, Halle Berry for her role as Leticia Musgrove in Monster’s Ball and Forest Whitaker for his role as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland among others.
