Roc Nation is seeking up to $2.4 million for Ora failing to her sophomore project, in addition to the three other albums she owes the label. When she signed to Roc Nation seven years ago, she signed a five-album deal. With Ora feverishly trying to sever ties with the label, this move by Roc Nation certainly stifles her chances of moving. The label says that they have spent $2.4 million on trying to produce, market, and release her long-awaited sophomore album that Ora has yet to release.

According to Ora’s lawyer, Howard King, Roc Nation isn’t being honest in regards to the messy ordeal at hand. “JAY Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalized,” King said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “We believe that Roc Nation’s distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution.”
