There have been a lot of references to Jesus in rap music, but only few rappers are daring enough to claim themselves to have the same powers as the man himself. While God and religion have both been referenced countless times, some rappers have gone as far as portraying themselves to be the son of the Lord reincarnated, or having the same powers as him. While it’s cause for controversy, we thought we would take a look back at the rappers who swore they had the power of Jesus on this Good Friday.

It’s safe to say there’s no other rapper who believes that they could be the reincarnation of Jesus than Kanye West. The rapper named his previous album Yeezus, after his stance have deemed him with the nickname for years after his “Jesus Walks” record won a Grammy.

Lil Wayne might not think he’s actually Jesus himself, but he did at one point refer to himself as a Biblical figure. On his 1000 Degreez album, the rapper rhymed, “This is the Carter, the Carter 3, the New Testament. And I am the God, and this is what I bless them with.”
