Rae Sremmurd are still remotely new to the music scene, but the hip hop duo has been working hard to make their mark on the culture. The two brothers are gearing up to release their brand new sophomore album, Sremm Life 2, and they’ve already started their promotional run. First up on the run has been landing the cover of Fader Magazine, but oddly enough, it’s already been met with some controversy, especially because of their interview. We decided to take a look at some of the biggest controversial moments that Rae Sremmurd has stirred up throughout their 2-year career so far.
Peep Rae Sremmurd’s controversial moments on the following pages.
When they refused to tell people their real ages
Believe it or not, fans are still pretty confused as to how old both Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee actually are. The duo has gone on record to poke fun at their ages when asked by press in the past, as they said that they were close to their 40’s. It’s pretty evident that these two guys are pretty young, but whether they’re just in their teens, or in their mid-20’s, is what throws people off.
When fans gave the side eye to their Fader cover
The duo just covered Fader Magazine, which is a huge feat for them both, however, the cover has been bombarded with comments about the two’s close friendship, even though they are actually brothers. Both Swae and Slim are photographed with no shirts on, as they lean on each other for the cover. If anything, it just shows how bonded these guys are, despite what many believe the photo may imply.
