It’s safe to say that aside from his ongoing beef with some of the artists on Young Money, Pusha T seems to have a great relationship with majority of the music industry. The new President of G.O.O.D. Music has been leaving fans on their toes with releasing new music, and he’s currently gearing up to drop his highly-anticipated album, King Push. We can assume the rapper mostly receives some pushy emails about dropping music, but one iconic rapper in particular had quite a crazy exchange recently with the Virginia native.
See what went down with Pusha and this legendary MC.
Pusha T released his brand new track with Jay Z this week called “Drug Dealers Anonymous.”
The new record has already received rave reviews from the hip hop community, as much of social media is trying to debate which rapper had the better verse. Fans were ecstatic to see that a 46-year-old Jay Z can still bring it back to his former life in the streets, where he raps about coming up through the drug game into becoming an internationally known rapper.
Pusha recalls how he got Jay to hop on the track through an epic email exchange.
According to his Genius annotation, Pusha reached out to Jay to poke fun at Tomi Lahren referring to the rapper as a “14-year-old drug dealer” during her television broadcast last year. He said in the initial email, “The news reporter that called you a 14-year drug dealer, this was the inspiration behind it. Here’s my verse. I left some extra beat for you. Let me know what you think either way.”
