Movies often take a while to come to fruition. From thinking it to life, to securing directors, screenwriters, producers, etc. it can take years sometimes, but when you have buzzing Marvel comic character and heightened anticipation from fans, it kinda makes you ask the question — what’s the hold up?
After finally locking down screenwriter, Joe Robert Cole to bring the Black Panther to life, it looks like the movie could be in a theater sooner than we think. The Black Panther will be Marvel’s first feature film that focuses on a superhero of color and has Chadwick Boseman as the lead, staring as T’Challa, the prince of the fictional African nation of Wakanda who must assume leadership after his father’s murder.
Although the film doesn’t have a directed yet, there are strong talks of this movie making its silver screen debut mid-summer of next year.
What are your thoughts on this film taking so long to see the light of day? Do you think it has something to maybe do with the character skin color?
