Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne have been doing an awful lot of hanging out recently. In a rare interview with Red Bull Music Academy, Lil Wayne discussed having Mannie Fresh produce the intro track off of his album. We’re not sure if he means Carter V or The Free Weezy Album, but we’re excited nonetheless. Red Bull Music Academy caught up with Mannie Fresh afterwards and he elaborated on their collaboration.

We didnt miss a beat. I think it was a good thing for us not to do a song in a long time, so when we came together he felt just as well as I did. Like, wow, this is what hip-hop is missing. They want that OG original Cash Money sound.’

Hold tight as we wait for the audio footage from both interviews to surface.

Mannie Fresh on his new song with Lil Wayne: “We didn’t miss a beat. I think it was a good thing for us not to do a song in a long time, so when we came together he felt just as well as I did. Like, ‘wow, this is what hip-hop is missing. They want that OG original Cash Money sound.’” WOW! Are you excited to hear Weezy rap over a Mannie Fresh beat like the good ol’ days?
