Now that Lil Wayne has put the Cash Money dispute behind him, he is in the works with new projects and a new name. The Young Money Entertainment creator has put in motion the trademarking of “New Dirty Bastard.” This new alias is intended for production and entertainment use only. However, his it’s not as original as it may seem.

Looking back in hip hop history, a former Wu-Tang member went by “Ol Dirty Bastard.” He died from a drug overdose back in 2004. The family stuck close to the unique title, now his son Bar-Sun Jones entertains under “Young Dirty Bastard.” The family was surprised, to say the least, when they discovered Weezy wanted to proceed with the trademark.

The daughter of the passed Wu-Tang member, Tanqua Jones, stated they would be “willing to work together” and focus on the possible impact of this on an “artistic level before any other conversations take place.”

As they work out the situation, Weezy is focused on new music and performing for his fans. The rapper is set to play at the Panorama Festival after being added to the lineup. He also is featured on the track “Rich Sex” of Nicki Minaj’s album Queen.
