Lil Uzi Vert was scheduled to perform at New Orleans’ BUKU Music + Art Project over the weekend, but was a complete no-show. Thousands and thousands of fans gathered at BUKU’s Power Plant stage to see Uzi headline the Saturday night set, but the “XO TOUR Llif3” rapper bailed instead.

Festival organizers had no choice but to quickly announce that Uzi bailed without explanation. They projected a message on the screen at the stage where Uzi was to perform, stating that the rapper gave “no reason” as to why he was a no-show.

“Lil Uzi is still in Philadelphia and decided not to come at the last minute. There is no reason,” the message read. “He just canceled on us with no advance notice.” The organizers claimed to donate a portion of Uzi’s fee to the Upbeat Academy Foundation in New Orleans. Uzi’s slot was given to EDM DJ, Gryffin, who wasn’t scheduled for the festival. “Support artists who support their fans,” the message concluded.

So far, Uzi hasn’t said anything about standing fans up at BUKU. He’s slated to perform at Beach Bash in Texas on March 14 and 1 OAK Nightclub in Las Vegas on March 16.
