Kanye West is hands down one of the best entertainers of this generation. Not only does he entertain and make AMAZING music, but he educates, inspires and subconsciously makes us all want to be great. Kanye is the true definition of artistry.
However, artistry and genius-ness aside, if not rapping or making music Kanye, sometimes (even if more often than others), shouldn’t be given a microphone. Why? Because he’s notorious. for. ranting. Now, there’s nothing wrong with ranting especially if your trying to make a point, until you start to lose your audience, which sometimes Kanye does.
Last night during the 31st annual MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye was the recipient of the Video Vanguard Award, given to musicians who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture and honoring an artist’s body of work. The award was presented to Kanye by Taylor Swift if you remember, back in 2009, was bum rushed by Kanye because he felt that Beyoncé, instead, deserved the award.
