There are only a handful of athletes that can get busy on the mic. We’ve seen the likes of Kobe Bryant, Roy Jones, Iman Shumpert, and Damian Lillard showcase their skills, but before them, was Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq proved he was a force to be reckoned with on both the hardwood and in the booth. He was able to rap with some of the genre’s most influential stars ever. We mean, the brother even went platinum. Shaq Signs to Jive Records

In 1993, Shaq inked a deal with Jive Records to release his debut album, Shaq Diesel. The album performed well and earned Shaq a platinum plaque. The album spawned four singles, and two of them went gold.

Shaq Drops “No Hook” Featuring RZA & Method Man

For his second album, Shaq Fu: Da Return, O’ Neal tapped RZA and Method Man for his lyrical banger, “No Hook.” Of course, Shaq represented to the fullest. His second CD was able to churn out a gold plaque.
