2K Sports has enlisted hip-hop heavyweights DJ Khaled, DJ Mustard, and DJ Premier to executive producers of the NBA 2K16 soundtrack and rightfully so. Over the last 3-5 years, these DJ’s/producers have flooded both the charts and air waves with their anthemic, head-banging hits.

Year in and year out, the NBA 2K franchise is undoubtedly one of the best video games out and a big reason why is because of the music featured in the game. Similar to a real game, once you’re in the zone and the music is pumped up —  you’re in the winner’s bracket. 2K Sports released a press release saying that it “will feature the most extensive soundtrack in NBA 2K in history with three genre-defining collaborators at the helm.”

Excited and thankful for the opportunity, DJ Khaled and DJ Premier both released statements on their enlistment:

DJ Khaled:

I am honored to collaborate with NBA 2K, which is such a distinguished brand and one of the my favorite video games. Basketball and music are two of my favorite things, and I’m excited to light up the soundtrack with my signature sound. Expect the hottest tracks and of course hit music when you press the start button on NBA 2K16! We the Best! Who?!!! NBA 2K16 that’s who!!!!

DJ Premier:

I am excited to be a port of the ongoing series of NBA 2k,” said Premier. “As a sports fan, it was already fun before the work began. NBA 2K16 will be another big hit, especially alongside DJ Mustard and DJ Khaled bringing our different musical styles to the game.

NBA 2K16 is slated for an early fall release of Sept. 29. In the meantime SHARE this story with your crew and see if they share in the same excitement as you do.

Considering its new producers, NBA 2K16 soundtrack may outsell the actual game.
