How did he get so lucky?
Troy Ave has had one of the toughest summers of anyone in hip hop, or music in general, but it looks like things just got easier. The “You Style” rapper has been in police custody for the past two months after he was charged with a slew of charges resulting from his involvement in the shooting at NYC’s Irving Plaza in May. The fatal shooting injured three people, including Troy, and ended up killing someone from his team. Now, Troy finally seems to be getting a break while he awaits his final fate.
Troy Ave was charged with attempted murder for the shooting.
Back at the end of May, a fatal shooting went down inside Irving Plaza in New York City during a concert that T.I. was headlining. The horrific incident injured three people and left Troy’s bodyguard, Banga, dead. Security footage was released to the public from inside of the concert hall, which allegedly showed Troy on camera pointing his gun and shooting at someone within range.
He was indicted on the charges, but not for murder.
Authorities arrested the rapper the following day after the incident, despite him already being injured as he was grazed in the leg by a bullet. He was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment, and he was indicted at the beginning of June, where he pled not guilty. Authorities investigated and sought to charge him with murder, but eventually found that he was clear of the charge.
Troy was released on bail this week.
This week, the rapper caught a break in his case, as his lawyer was able to get him granted bail while he awaits his trial. Troy is now at home in Brooklyn after being released on $500,000 bail. The rapper must wear an ankle bracelet for the time being and cannot leave the city. He’s also not allowed to be anywhere near concert halls, bars, arenas and other performance venues. He also cannot visit his two children that reside in New Jersey.
