This is going to be a fun season
Trick Daddy is back in the limelight after many years away. And the Slip N Slide Records standout is ready to talk about where he’s been.
The rapper formerly known as Trick Daddy Dollars explained that he was forced to step away from the rap game after his career highs in the ‘90s because he struggles with lupus. He brought that story back up in a “Meet The Cast” video for VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
Back in the late ‘00s, Trick revealed that he had stopped taking medication for his lupus because of the hassle of testing each new treatment.
“I stopped taking any medicine that they was giving me,” Trick told HipHopDX, “because for every medicine they gave me I had to take a test or another medicine every thirty days or so to make sure that medicine wasn’t causing side effects – dealing with kidney or liver failure…I just said all together I ain’t taking no medicine.”
Trick tells VH1 that he’s as healthy as he’s ever been in this new video. He even tells them he’s at his “highest s*x peak.”
And we don’t have to worry about Trick Daddy getting any sort of stress sickness. The rapper long ago committed to being 100% honest with people and laying exactly how he feels out on the table.
“When you pretend you have to remember and when you lie, you have to lie again,” he explained of his life philosophy.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Trick is a really really big fan of at least one of his castmates. His former labelmate and fellow Miami hitmaker Trina helps to fill out the cast of the series’ inaugural run in the 305. And Trick Daddy has never had anything but kind words for his “Nann” co-star.
He recently explained that Trina deserves to be considered at the top of the heap for female MCs. He laid out all the ways that she bested her contemporaries is a recent interview.
“Trina was saying the things way worse than Kim did it. Lil Kim did it with class. Trina did it from right here. ‘F**k bout five or six friends.’ One of my favorite artists Foxy she never was that ghetto girl that be in my mind because she finessed the mic so well. Trina just did it a whole different way. To every man, every girl wanted to be Trina, and every man wanted to be with Trina. If Trina was a Kardashian, she’d be the richest Kardashian.”

Not that Trina needs to be defended. She recently showed why we should still think of her as the baddest when Khia and a local rapper named Kim B tried to talk trash about her.
“Y’all hoes gonna respect my motherf**king name,” she said in an angry response. “I’m gonna make you bow down and kiss my motherf*cking feet, y’all bumass hoes. I paved the way for you to even speak in Miami…Don’t even talk about my name without saying ‘Ms.’”
