Too Short has been accused again.
Too Short is being sued over an alleged sexual assault. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, a woman named Teana Louis claims that the rapper repeatedly assaulted her in 2016.
Louis claims in the lawsuit that the unwanted advances from Short began in April, but the incidents that led to the allegations happened in June 2016.
Louis says that Short took her to a hotel room in downtown Los Angeles where he had sex with her in spite of her protestations. TMZ reports that the lawsuit alleges Short held Louis down during and encounter and, at one point, “brutally sodomized” her.
Louis is suing for sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, gender discrimination, and false imprisonment.
The Source is reporting that Short denies the allegations and that the rapper claims to have “hundreds of text messages to disprove Ms. Louis’ allegations.”
It’s the second time in recent memory that Too Short has been brought into the headlines for a story about sexual assault. The rapper was being investigated last year for an alleged r*pe of his former protege.
“Today, I read that I am being investigated for allegedly committing sexual assault,” he said of that incident. He continued,
“The allegations against me are completely false. Let me be clear, I have NEVER had nonconsensual s*x with anyone, ever. I have directed my lawyers to vigorously combat these ridiculous claims. I have not been contacted by the LAPD about this matter and doubt I ever will be. If I am, I will direct my lawyers to fully cooperate and turn over 100’s of text messages and other evidence that will prove this woman is falsely accusing me. Thanks for your support.”
What do you think?
No charges came of the first incident, but taken together with this new complaint, it certainly doesn’t look good for the much-loved rapper.
If Short is guilty, it will fly in the face of his publicly held convictions. Recently, Too Short was asked about the #MeToo movement by a TMZ pap and his response was that men should leave women alone.
“The best way to beat this whole new thing is to stop trying to f**k. The art of trying to f**k is over,” he said. “If you’re a man now, you kinda got to not try anymore. Just kick back and let the women doing the approaching now.”
“Maybe don’t pull your d**k out until it’s asked for” isn’t exactly a revolutionary take but given the rash of high-profile entertainers who can’t seem to grasp this, we’ll take what we can get. It’s not exactly 4th wave feminist ideology on the matter, but it’s definitely a start.
He added that women are better suited for making decisions and running things in general, not just with regards to dating. So, men falling back from positions of power might be in everyone’s best interests.
“Guys need to just step the f**k back,” he said. “We’ve been f**king up a lot and we can all admit this. Women do it better.”
What do you think? Is Too Short guilty? Is this a pattern of his? If so, will you be able to listen to his music going forward or is the legend entirely cancelled? Sound off in the comments and be sure to SHARE this article.
