Tommie Lee might be toning down her anger
An intervention brought on by anger issues is both the worst place to get heated and the most likely place for a blow-up to occur. Apparently, Tommie Lee couldn’t keep it together during a visit to The Doctors to deal with her issues.
The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star got upset during a showdown with her mother and the hosts of the daytime show. The hosts urged both Tommie and her mother to take responsibility for their actions if they actually wanted to get better.
Of course, this led to another shouting match… but the family did eventually manage to get it together. Both Tommie and her mother ended up apologizing for slights against the other and they seemed to set out on a better path.
A Way Forward
“I just want the best for my mom, but I don’t want to feel like a sucker, like how she talks about me,” Tommie said. “It’s like what did I ever do to you… so that is what hardens me and makes me feel the way I feel… I’m just protecting me.”
“I know as the oldest child I neglected you, and I apologize for that,” Tommie’s mother responded. “I really wish we could put this in the past and behind us and just move forward. I really hope that you forgive me. I’m ready to show you the love you deserve from me because I love you.”
This apology put the typically brash and aggressive Lee in a repentant mood and she also told her mother that she was sorry for anything she had done to hurt her.
“I’m sorry for whatever pain I caused you or for whatever blessings I blocked from you,” she said. “Things that happened in the past are just that and all I ever wanted was to be loved by you. So, I really hope that you forgive me and more than anything forgive yourself.”
Tommie’s anger got her into trouble in the past. The Love & Hip Hop star repeatedly attempted to run over her co-star Joseline Hernandez and has spent time in jail for violating Hernandez’s restraining order against her. She stays big mad, but when The Doctors tried to confront her about this, she played it off.
“When people disrespect me, I just do it back a little bit harder,” she said.
While that isn’t promising on its own, the overall tone of the appearance made it seem like Tommie was contrite and would continue to work on her issues both with her mother and her anger in general. Both Tommie and her mother made pledges to be better going forward.
Tommie even laid out what she needs from her mother to move on.
“I don’t need you to give up and check out on life. I need you to be a full-formed, responsible adult so I can be proud,” she told her mom.
She also agreed to cut down on using four-letter words and being disrespectful towards her mother moving forward. In exchange, Tommie’s mom agreed to give up more of her time towards checking in on her.
