Last week, XXL released their newest Freshman cover and created instant conversations regarding their selections. Dave East, Desiigner, Lil Yatchy, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Anderson Paak, G Herbo, Denzel Curry, Lil Dicky and Kodak Black were the chosen 10 to represent this year’s collection of stars. If the selections weren’t enough to swallow, one of the cover stars of this year’s issue created a huge stir by saying that he’s better than Tupac and Biggie.
Kodak Black makes a bold claim.
The Florida rapper made a bold proclamation during his interview with XXL regarding the revered legends of hip hop. “I’m better than Tupac and Biggie. I say that so now you know where my head at,” he said. Kodak Black named his recent endeavor Lil Big Pac after the legends of rap.
Kodak is “thankful” for his recent success.
Besides his brash statement regarding his alleged legendary status, Kodak did show a shade of humility. “I ain’t finna let nothing stop me… I got this voice from the Lord, I guess,” he said. “I got this voice from the Lord. I can just ride the beat… I just know that I’mma do something in life. I’mma do something productive in life. But I’m thankful. I didn’t struggle enough. One day, something’s gonna give. Something gotta give.”
Kodak’s a problem with the law.
While the 19-year-old is definitely a star in the making, he does have a penchant for getting into trouble. Last week, he was arrested for open warrants pertaining to armed robbery, kidnapping and assault. In order for him to thrive, he needs to avoid trouble that could endanger his career.
