Many rap artists have stepped aside from the rap game in order to pursue other business ventures, and that includes movies and television. Some rappers have turned to the large screen while other enjoy being on television, including being in reality shows. One iconic rapper is slated to have an entire sitcom based around him, and it’s coming to a network that you probably wouldn’t expect.
A Notorious B.I.G. sitcom is coming to TBS
The show, which has been signed off and picked up by TBS, is based around inspiration from Biggie’s lyrics. The new series is a scripted sitcom that focuses on an inner-city teen and his struggle to create a better life for himself and his two children.
Mass Appeal is behind the show’s creation
Mass Appeal magazine and record label has been working with the network, as well as Biggie’s mother, Violetta Wallace, on producing the series. The title of the show as of right now is reportedly “Think B.I.G.” TBS is supposed to be teaming up with Mass Appeal on other projects in the future in order to create content consisting of “unique stories with diverse voices.”
TBS is slated to work with Mass Appeal on more musical series
Mass Appeal partner and CCO Sacha Jenkins spoke on the partnership, stating, “I think our marriage will produce programming that will inspire a huge cross-section of people to tune in, interact, and, in the case of TBS, laugh their a**es off.”
