Sometimes, when you put a camera in someone’s face, they might say something that they don’t really mean. With the conviction on The Game’s face when he dealt out a total diss to LeBron James, it seems like he really does believe that LeBron’s career is not doing too hot.
The Game was at no shortage of opinions when interviewed by TMZ and was happy to deal out his own personal rankings of various basketball players from best to worst. He was not shy about his opinions when it comes to LeBron, and he really didn’t have much nice to say.
Timing is right
TMZ got the timing right for this interview, making sure to catch The Game almost immediately after the final buzzer after LeBron’s most recent loss.
The Game was geared up with a lot of opinions.
At first, it seemed like he didn’t really want to talk about LeBron. He changes the subject a bit, and it’s pretty clear that he’s thinking about what everyone’s mom always says: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
But, eventually, he opened up, and shared with the world what he really thought about LeBron.
The Game didn’t seem very torn up at all about LeBron’s loss. He comes straight out at the beginning of the video, saying, “You know, anything that makes me, you know, $50,000 richer is cool with me, bro.”
When the reporter asks him to clarify what he’s talking about, he says, “I bet on today’s game.”
So, to be fair, The Game had a lot to gain from LeBron’s loss, literally. About $50,000 is nothing to sneeze at, even for a big-name rapper like The Game. That said, he could have left well enough alone and not gone after LeBron’s career, but that’s what happens when you leave cameras rolling for long enough.
Tell us how you really feel!
Maybe it was the recent winnings, but The Game was pretty loose-lipped about the game he had just watched. In fact, the TMZ reporter made it very easy for him to play nice. The reporter says, “LeBron’s still the best player in the NBA, get all this s*** on TMZ!”
The Game wasn’t too sure. He said, “The best player in the world is Michael Jordan. After that, it’s Kobe [Bryant].”
But the TMZ reporter knew which questions to ask and wanted to know whether The Game thought that LeBron’s loss tarnished his legacy.
