Nobody can touch these guys
Today, R&B is vastly different from when it reigned supreme in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Groups were feverishly itching for an opportunity to showcase their velvety smooth vocals whenever the opportunity presented itself. Believe it or not, male R&B groups are ultra-comepetive and will do whatever to knock out the next set of guys gunning for their position. With that being said, take a look at HHMW’s eight best male R&B groups of all time.
Longevity should be the middle name of New Edition. For decades they sprinkled the R&B world with a medley of unforgettable, romantic jams. “Can’t Stand the Rain,” “Candy Girl” and more helped solidify their standing in the realm of R&B history.
Boyz II Men
Four schoolmates from Philly flipped the R&B battlefields upside down when they entered the scene in the 90s. The gorgeous croon of Boyz II Men had women gushing for more. “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love to You,” “One Sweet Day” were some of their most notable smash hits. Nobody could vocally hold a candle to Boyz to Men.
From the late 90s to 2000s, Next superseded several groups in the world of R&B because of their myriad hits. “Too Close” and “Wifey” were their biggest tracks and had women oozing out of their seats every time either song came on.
