Safaree completely opened up
Safaree finally opened up about his relationship with Nicki Minaj and that infamous incident where he was jumped by goons that he claims were working for Meek Mill.
On the latest episode of Everyday Struggle, the Love & Hip Hop star and ex of the famous rapper talked at length about his former flame. While Nicki has done everything in her power to avoid the appearance of a beef with the ascendant rapper Cardi B, Safaree says that Nicki is definitely sweating the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker. While Nicki hasn’t necessarily said anything about Cardi, Safaree says that, knowing his long time boo, there is no way she isn’t a little threatened and competitive.
“100 percent,” he said when asked about whether Nicki was hearing Cardi’s footsteps, “because I know how she is.”
He also said that he misses the old Nicki, though he understands why Minaj has changed her sound.
“It’s very different. Like how she was before when we was doing ‘Roman’s Revenge’ and ‘Did It On Em,’” he said. “I know and understand people say you gotta grow and excel and change but I like the old her better.”
Safaree also said that he made the decision to move to Los Angeles at the behest of Nicki, not because he felt the need to move to be on reality TV.
“People love putting everything on Mona-Scott Young,” he said. “At the end of the day I moved to L.A. I moved there with Nicki.”
The hosts then turned the conversation towards the time that he was jumped by people he claimed were affiliated with Meek Mill. They asked Safaree if he was more afraid of animal activists ruining his coats or Meek Mill’s crew.
“I’m definitely more afraid of PETA,” he said.
When pressed to explain the situation, Safaree laid out the entire story of his getting jumped:
“The funny thing is I was waiting for my security. I see this dude or whatever and I got out to holler at him. I was out of the car for like 30 seconds.
I saw him come out personally. When I saw him come out, I’m just looking at him. By the time he stood out boom, I got hit. So I ran off where the car was parked at. I turned around to stop and look and see what’s going on. I see two people coming at me in the front and more people coming at me from the side. When I balled up and I was down by the car and i just felt n*ggas hitting me. All I saw was feet shuffling: boom, boom, boom. Then when I felt like I was able to break free, then I just took off.
I didn’t even realize what was happening. I went to a bar. I went and got a bottle. I went and got a knife. My boy when he came back, I didn’t even know he was fighting.”
