If you had to appear in court for a big hearing that determined the fate of your freedom, what would you do? Would you stay up all night, making sure you’re prepared to shut down every prosecutors’ accusation or turn up in a strip club with your rapper friends. Rick Ross did the latter.
Just a few hours prior to his court hearing, he was in an Atlanta strip club, making it rain on dancers. He was set to appear in court the next morning for the 2015 incident where he allegedly kidnapped and pistol-whipped two of his workers on his property.
On June 24, 2015, Rick Ross and his bodyguard were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and pistol-whipping a contractor who was doing work on Ross’ house in Fayette County, Ga.
Ross was having work done on his property, which was previously owned by Evander Holyfield, when he and the worker got into a fight. Ross then allegedly took a 9MM pistol and pistol-whipped the worker, injuring his jaw and neck.
Ross vs. Groundskeeper
He then allegedly got into an argument with his groundskeeper and forced him into the guesthouse bedroom at gunpoint. He pistol-whipped the man twice, injuring his jaw and neck and cracking two of his teeth. The groundskeeper’s jaw was so injured that he had to go on an all-liquid diet.
Arrested & Charged
Ross, born William Leonard Roberts, 39, and his bodyguard, Nadrian James, 42, were arrested and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
Ross and James asked for immunity from the court, claiming self-defense. They were scheduled to appear in court on March 24, but the night before the court date, Ross was doing everything, but preparing to testify…
