Who is suing who?
It seems like rappers diss each other all the time, and a lot of the time they’re accusing one another of stealing beats or flows. It’s a bold claim when all the music is out there and anyone can tell if they’re telling the truth or not, so does anyone have any proof?
Check out the best times that rappers were actually sued for stealing beats!
Ludacris was actually sued back in the day when he released a song titled “Be With You”. The song was said to be similar to Tyrone Davis’ 1979 song “Be With Me”, and Ludacris, David Banner, and Marsha Ambrosious were all sued!
The mysterious Frank Ocean has had a few incidents with lawsuits in his past, but back in 2014 he had a big one when he failed to clear the samples from his song “Super Rich Kids” on Channel Orange.
The song included elements from Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love” and also pieces from The Honeydrippers’ “Impeach The President.” Ocean was sued later on that year.
Jay Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Beyoncé
That’s a full plate. This crew was sued back when Richard Dupree (who is probably delusional) claimed that over 3,000 of his songs were stolen!
He claimed that this group was working with government agencies like the CIA, so we’re pretty sure he was actually off his rocker. He was suing for a whopping $2.4 million, and to make things even worse, he was in prison!
