They switched burgers for barbells!
Rick Ross Overtoned
Ever heard of CrossFit? Welcome to “RossFit”! Years ago, Ross was best known for his deep voice and the big body that went with it, but not anymore. Rick Ross lost over 100 pounds, but he said dieting was only part of the journey. He even said that it wasn’t about cutting too much out, just watching his portion size.
Fat Joe Overweight
What’s in a name? In Fat Joe’s case, a whole lot. Joseph Antonio Cartagena, AKA Fat Joe, is one of the most recognizable names in the business. Since his early days with the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew to forming Terror Squad, Fat Joe has worked with just about everybody in the industry from Remy Ma and DJ Khaled to Lil Wayne and Ja Rule. By the time he was in his mid-twenties, Fat Joe already weighed over 300 pounds, but he began his weigh loss journey not long after.
Fat Joe Overtoned
By the 2000s, Fat Joe was already working on his personal journey to lose weight and get into a healthier routine. In 2011, Fat Joe officially showed off his 88-pound weight loss in the music video for “Drop a Body.” He also participated in Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative against childhood obesity in an appearance with former mayor of Newark, NJ Cory Booker. Fat Joe credits a low-carb diet for much of his results, and he stated that he avoids bread, pasta, and rice but will eat sweet potatoes.
How awesome his Fat Joe’s commitment not only to his own health, but also to helping inspire young people to get and stay in shape? It’s not easy being a kid who grows up in an environment where unhealthy food is more readily available than healthy food, so we hope that Fat Joe and others working on this initiative are truly making a difference.
Do you think he’ll keep the name Fat Joe forever? On one hand, it might remind him where he started and be too big of a brand to drop now. On the other hand, he looks fly and his name should reflect that too!
