All Eyes On Singleton
Every time it seems like the drama surrounding the All Eyez On Me Tupac biopic is slowing down, things pick right back up again. The reviews for the film have been all over the place. Some people say they loved it and that it did a great job of showing us how Tupac really lived, while others say it was completely inaccurate and one of the worst films the’ve ever seen.
There’s been talk about why John Singleton was fired from directing the movie, and more details are coming out that might make things clear.
Singleton had some bad ideas on his script, and the public is letting him have it. Several different sections of what is said to be Singleton’s script has leaked online. Singleton was under fire when the producer, L.T. Hutton, said that he had a script that would have shown Tupac getting raped in jail.
Not only that, but another scene involved Tupac’s mother having a threesome on screen.
Both Daz Dillinger and L.T. Hutton took the time to put Singleton on blast, and the fans joined in. Dillinger posted a few parts of the script online and even said, “This is the @JohnSingleton script? @2pac would have beat his azzz over this.” We’d agree with that statement.
He also captioned the posts with, “THANKS FOR NOT PUTTING THIS OUT @JohnSingleton” and “BULLSH*T RAPE AINT NO LAUGHING MATTER N***A.”
Singleton responded to everyone that was concerned with the quality of his script; he asked why everyone was so caught up with a script that didn’t even make it to the movie. He also claimed that he worked on the script with Tupac’s mother.
He went on and said that the film was supposed to be their “Malcom X” film. He said that he would never do anything to destroy Pac’s legacy and that people were giving passes to the actual film, but not his work that didn’t even make the film.
