Looks like the party's over...
R&B artist PartyNextDoor was arrested for drug possession while trying to enter the United States!
Both PND and his friend were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after Border Patrol agents and New York state troopers searched their vehicles at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge between the U.S. and Canada. According to WIVB, PND’s buddy Jerome Nevins was found in possession of Xanax, while PND was in possession of Xanax and Oxycodone when officers pulled his bus over for a secondary inspection at the border yesterday morning (October 5, 2017).
Both Nevins and Party have been issued return tickets to the town of Lewiston Court.
There’s no telling what sort of effect this incident will have on PND. He’s been on a roll lately, so close to the release of his EP Seven Days. He’s also been steadily handing out clues about his upcoming album Club Atlantis However, a possible court case might throw a wrench in PND’s rollout.
While things have been going well for Party professionally, he still sees slights everywhere he looks. He dropped a thinly veiled Kehlani diss recently, a solid year after everyone had forgotten about the messy dissolution of their relationship.
“Everybody knows that I’ve been honest,” he says on the track “Own Up To Your Sh*t.”
“Move on from it, it’s too obvious
Worked too hard to make me the bad guy
And I worked too hard for me to keep sacrificin’, my silence
You gotta quit and break down baby girl
And just quit lyin’
Stop complainin’, quit complainin’.”
Fans would have connected it to Kehlani, regardless, but the language used makes it pretty clear that Party is addressing his ex-girlfriend.
“I regret how it went down,” he said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “Big time I regret how it went down. I look into people’s eyes and I know they think I’m a bad guy. There’s a lot of details that people don’t know. I just hope people understand that was a year for him. And I hope everyone has a successful year, and I hope that’s in the past.”
He’s also seeing disrespect in his interaction with other stars. Party claimed that Tyrese disrepected him recently.
“Tried to say wussup to Tyrese he dissed twice lol // just for y’all kids coming up, do your thing & in time they boomerang, love,” he wrote on Twitter.
He’s also launched attacks at unnamed “vultures” on his Snapchat.
“The game done changed, man. You better learn how to sing, boy,” he said recently. “We gon’ culture vulture your sh*t. Write the sh*t for you, sing it better than you.”
Maybe if PND hadn’t made so many enemies, someone would have told him to have someone else hold his drugs for him. As it stands, the singer is getting busted for carrying pills that could have been in someone else’s pockets, if only someone older — someone like Tyrese — had bothered to give him a heads up. Where are the industry veterans? Is “weed carrier” not a career path anymore? Has the music industry fallen so far? Thanks a lot, Napster.
