Nicki Minaj’s former group-mate Jaquin “7even-Up” Royall is currently in critical condition after being shot in the head. Though details are scarce, the artist’s injuries are said to be the least of his worries. Royall is reportedly set to be charged with possession of an illegal handgun should he survive his injuries.
Nicki Minaj, who has not posted anything on social media since December, has not commented on Royall’s shooting or hospitalization.
According to Reports…
While leaving a bar in Coney Island, Brooklyn, Royall was shot several times, sustaining injuries to the head and other areas of his body. Authorities have not released the names of other parties involved in the shooting nor have they alluded to why the shooting took place.
However, reports have indicted that police have arrested Royall for carrying an illegal handgun that allegedly fell off of him during the shooting. Seeing as the artist is already on parole for a previous gun possession charge, this situation will surely not play out well in front of a judge.
Although, Royall was trying to turn his life around. According to NY Daily News, the New York native was apart of an anti-violence program. Located in Coney Island, the sole mission of Operation HOOD (Helping Our Own Hood) is to help adolescents steer clear of drugs, violence, and any other trouble.
Royall — alongside Nicki Minaj, Scaff Beezy (Saafaree Samuels), and Lou$tar — formed Hoodstars back in the day. After the group disbanded, there was never any love missed. The rapper posted a sweet tribute to Nicki on Instagram for her birthday.
“SENDING A BIG B-DAY S/O 2 MY MAUHF*KN SIS,#BARBIE #NICKILAWINSKI#DEGENERESQUEEN#

Though she isn’t publicly responding to any of it, it seems like Nicki Minaj is getting bad news all over the place. According to TMZ, she and fellow Queens royalty Nas broke up this past December. The news outlet came forward earlier this month, reporting that the pair’s relationship is officially over.
Citing unnamed sources, TMZ said “the rappers broke up a few weeks ago after the relationship ran out of steam.”
“They’ve been dating since June 2017, but we’re told living in different cities was just too much,” the article continued. “There were recent reports Nicki was pregnant, but we’re told there’s no truth to that.”
