This is big!
Mariah was trying to help Jackie get through the pain she’s dealing with since her husband cheated on her on a recent episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta. In the process of trying to comfort Jackie, Mariah revealed that her own husband had stepped out on her in the past.
“It’s okay to fight for your man,” she said in a clip posted from the show. “You don’t owe no explanation to now f**king body. I’ve been where you are. I have. Nobody’s exempt”
In a confessional, she elaborated on the bombshell drop:
“I don’t have a perfect marriage. We’ve been married over a decade. And we have had issues like everybody else and infidelity has come up in my marriage just like everybody else. In the end you just have to make a decision to fight for your marriage and try to make it better.”
Jackie could barely contain herself in her own confessional. When she explained the moment that Mariah shared something so raw, her voice cracked.
“Having Mariah share something so personal and so dear to here as a means of helping me get through this process meant the world to me,” she said.
Mariah continued, saying that she wanted Jackie to understand that it’s possible to move on from where she’s at right now, but it’s going to be difficult.
“I want her to know this is a phase and there is hope,” she said. “But you have to be on the same page and you both have to be willing to put in the work.”
It’s been a rough time in the world of reality TV relationships, even by their own flexible standards. Over on Married To Medicine Dr. Simone Whitmore and her husband Cecil Whitmore called it quits after 21 years together.
“There is no if here, there are no games. I am not pretending. I am done, ” she told People. “I have reached a place where I am in a marriage where I do not feel loved and no sacrifices are being made for me to make me feel loved. I must move on.”
Though the couple appeared to be getting better after attending counseling, she said the arguments became too much to bear.
“It looked like we were improving. The problem is we should have continued counseling, and we did not,” she said. “We let life take over. We were busy over the summer with basketball tournaments, traveling and getting Miles ready for college. We should have kept marital counseling as a priority, but we let the ball drop.”
She also revealed the exact moment that she knew the ride was over.
“Cecil and I had a disagreement,” she recalled. “We were trying to talk through it — with sometimes tense, sometimes normal negotiations in process — and he woke up on Saturday morning, we had a blow-up. I knew that day that my marriage was over.”
“My marriage had ended,” she added. “I could no longer deal with the stuff he was dishing.”
