Listen up, Love & Hip Hop fans! You can stop waiting by your Twitter feeds with baited breath. Here’s the confirmation you may have been waiting for: The Hollywood extension of the reality television series will look a little different next season.
The show has undergone a major change, saying goodbye to two female cast members and firing Zell Swag. According to theJasmineBRAND, the celeb fashion stylist will not be on the next season of the show. He’s seemingly not sweating it though, as he says he has something else in the works.
“It is a 100% true. I definitely will not be on Love & Hip Hop this season, but you will see me on another show here soon. I can’t say too much,” he told the gossip outlet. “I’m moving on.”
Of course, after his explosive fight, for lack of a better term, with cast mate Misster Ray, this isn’t shocking news. Late last year (2017), as the LHHH cast sat with Nina Parker, the host proposed a truce between the two. While the audience and cast alike seemed truly shocked at the mere thought of peace between Zell and Ray, both of them appeared open to it.
Zell walked over to Ray with open arms, appearing to go in for a hug, before sucker-punching Ray in the face. The surprise attack didn’t make Zell look good at all, with many viewers calling him “whack” and “lame.” Zell was escorted off the stage while Ray was praised, receiving a standing ovation when he opted to continue filming the reunion show.
A New Thing
“I think the Ray situation played a part in not being on this season. I can say I made the mistake and it caused me to lose my job,” Zell shared with theJasmineBRAND. “I can honestly say I am a bit upset because they have added some new people to this season who are dear to my heart, and I can’t be apart of that magic. So, it’s definitely bittersweet, but I’m moving on.”
While Zell isn’t the only member who will be missing from next season — viewers won’t see Masika Kalysha or Keyshia Cole anymore — he may be the only member who will hope back into bed with another production crew.
According to Mr. Shaw, “kicking my music off and really making that happen” won’t be his only major project for 2018. “I am working on a new show as well,” he teased. “I can’t say much as things are still in the works, but I can say the cast is a known assembled cast on a known network. This show has already been running with several franchises, so it’s not a new thing.”
“I’m going to be the first of ‘my kind’ on the show,” he added. “So I’m excited to bring that light to the show.” He also shared that, should this deal go through, fans will get “a lot more of Zell.” Viewers can expect to get a better look into his work and dating life alongside a little drama too.
“A few of my best friends are on the show, so it’s going good,” he concluded, before fighting the urge to share more. “That’s all I can give you right now.”
