Change her lyrics? Why?
Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne have been together for ever. As friends, they started out back when Nicki joined the Young Money crew. Lil Wayne took her under his wing and was really one of the main reasons why she grew to be the popular star that she is today. However, after all the good times there had to be some times when they didn’t agree, right? Nicki opens up on a recent Instagram post about a funny situation when Weezy didn’t like her lyrics.
It’s no secret that Nicki Minaj is a part of the Young Money team, and by being in this exclusive club she got to be pretty close with one of her best friends, Lil Wayne. The two have formed a close bond over the years, but sometimes they butt heads, as any good friends do.
Change Your Lyrics
While we’re sure the two have had their fair share of arguments and disagreements, but Nicki remembers one time that Wayne told her to change her lyrics. Once you read it, you’ll understand why she finds it so memorable and funny.
Faster than a sprinter
This all happened back when Nicki was younger, working on one of her first mixtapes. She said that it was the first time that she’d ever listened to her own work with Lil Wayne in the same room as her.
The lyric in question was: “I am da ninja. Weezy is my sensei. So I call him splinter. Faster than a sprinter.”
Nothing sounds wrong with that, right? Wrong.
