Dieuson “Kodak Black” Octave had a rough upbringing. He’s been through a ton in the past few years, but his career seems to be taking off at the right time. At the young age of 12, he was already rapping. He joined the group Brutal Youngnz under the name “J-Black,” and later on, he became Kodak Black. What’s he changing his name to now?
The 20-year-old rapper from Pompano Beach, Florida has a personality that goes unmatched. Apparently, from the young age of six, Kodak adopted the nickname “Black,” and it stuck with him. He’s had the names “Black,” “Lil Black,” “J-Black,” and of course his current “Kodak Black,” but the new name he is choosing surprisingly doesn’t sound like any of those.
A New Man
He loves his new name so much that he’s going through all the legal processes to make everything official. We’re used to the rapper being in court, but not for things like this.
After violating his parole he was sentenced to a short amount of time in prison, and after that, he busted out and lived the life he wanted. The first thing he did when he got out was give his mother $100,000, and he bought some pretty iced out jewelry.
He seemingly continued to try to change what he’s known for after getting out of jail by getting rid of his grill. He used to have golds lined up and down his teeth, but he decided to get all of that taken out.
