Keri explained why she's been gone
Keri Hilson had an emotional meeting with a medium on Steve Harvey’s talk show, Steve. The always busy host sent a psychic named Reginald Lewis, who has also met with Toni Braxton and actress Kym Whitley, down to Atlanta to meet with Keri as she worked on prepping a comeback album.
Similarly to his time with “Un-Break My Heart” singer Toni — where he spoke to the star’s grandfather — Lewis jumped into conversation about Hilson’s grandmother. After confirming that he was picking up something from Hilson’s late nana, he said that her spirit wanted to wish her a happy birthday. (Hilson’s birthday was the day after their meeting.) He then added that he’s seeing that Hilson has spent the last year cutting people out of her life and steeping away from negative things.
This is where things got real feels-y.
Through tears, Keri explained that she had to walk away from her music career alongside revealing how she’s fighting to get back to it.
“I hit rock bottom a few times,” she explained. “I’m crawling back to walking in my purpose.” Hilson said that she meant for her sojourn from the music world to be short, but she ended up staying out for way longer than anticipated.
“I think I had to give up music for a while. I stepped away,” she said. “I thought it would just be a year. It’s been six maybe? I realize now that I’m grateful for all of those years because I’ve built myself back up.”
Keri’s not the only star who has spent time with psychics in the recent past. Lil Kim sat down with Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry, who has consulted his fair share of high-profile clients. He’s been linked to the likes of Alan Thicke, retired NBA player John Salley, and Amber Rose. The 21-year-old was even featured on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
The famed clairvoyant medium told the MC that the Notorious BIG was coming through loud and clear. The ghost of Biggie apparently told Henry that Lil Kim was his soulmate, no doubt earning him some future celestial side-eye from his widow Faith Evans.
“It’s like Biggie came through as, like, a former lover, no different than any former lover would,” Henry told Entertainment Tonight. “But he came through very strongly and acknowledging that he wanted her to know that they were soulmates and how much he loved her.”
“And he acknowledged their relationship and how it kind of…how their last interaction was,” the medium continued. “He discussed some of the dynamics behind that and gave her a lot of closure and healing because, she didn’t obviously, because of the nature of his passing.”

If he believed Kim to be his soul mate, he had a funny way of showing it in real life. Kim has been remarkably candid about the abusive nature of their relationship in recent years, noting that BIG was often violent toward her in several interviews.
She told Hot 97 that Biggie would drop in on her studio sessions and things would quickly sour. “[I]t always turned into a lover’s quarrel or a lover’s nest,” Kim revealed. “Although I wanted him to be there to make sure my sh-t was tight, my music, everything got to be tight, but a lot of times, it wasn’t the best thing.”
