This weekend was supposed to be the kickoff for the first-annual “Fyre Fest”: A star-studded, luxury music festival hosted by Ja Rule and held on a private island in the Bahamas.
Tickets started at $1,500 a pop and went as high as $250,000 to attend with a group. With scheduled performances by Blink 182, Lil Yachty, G.O.O.D. Music, and more the intimate festival (only 6,000 tickets were available) was advertised as a weekend of luxury and music but wound up looking like a scene out of the Hunger Games.
The festival was hyped as a luxury festival experience (hence the quad-digit pricetag) and boasted influencers like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman… None of them ever came.
They arrived to find a war zone…
Upon arrival at the festival, attendees were ushered in old school busses to the “campsite” made up of refugee tents left over from hurricane relief operations.
This is gourmet food?
Advertised as “world class food, music, and fun”, the catering at the festival was barely a step-up from prison food…
What’s worse… the music festival barely had music…
