FatBoy was driving an expensive car without a license
Instagram comedian Fatboy SSE was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license in Miami. After he bonded out, Fatboy posted a video to his Instagram explaining the arrest.
Fatboy says the police were singling him out because of his expensive car and his skin color.
“They just hating on a young black guy because I was driving around in a red Ferrari with no license. I understand that I was driving it with no license but listen, y’all just hating on a young black man. I ain’t doing nothing wrong but hoping in the Maybach and living my life. Damn.”
He captioned the explanatory clip with a similar message
“LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN THE MIAMI BEACH COPS WAS JUST HATING ON ME CUZ I WAS DRIVING A BRIGHT RED RARRI & THEY STATED WE KNO WHO YOU ARE BUT WE DONT GIVE A F*CK YOU GOING IN FATBOY,” he wrote. “ITS COOL WE STILL SPREAD LOVE & BEING HAPPY LIT.”
Getting Stopped On Social Media
The comedian just posted a skit video with Tory Lanez the day before his arrest. The Canadian rapper has also had trouble with police recently. He sent out live videos from a stop by police as he was on the way to a probation meeting. While some might have done this to make a joke out of the whole thing — and Lanez did have jokes — he mainly did it so that his P.O. would see that he wasn’t lying when he gave an excuse for being late.
“Yo, let this be known,” he said as he filmed himself inside the car. “Because I know my probation officer bout to violate. Ms. Probation officer, I’m getting stopped. I’m getting stopped right now. I’m trying to make it on time but I’m getting stop. So you know. Don’t try to blaze me.”
Lanez also took offense to how long the officers were taking to process his information.
“Them n*ggas taking too long about to make my probation officer violate my sh*t, son,” he said. “She about to violate my sh*t. How you get stopped on your way to probation? That don’t make no sense. I wasn’t even driving fast.”
When the officers let him go without a ticket, Lanez said “Thank you” to the police in a cheerful voice and then jokingly cursed them out inside the car.
Lanez was joined in his livestream tactics a few days later by Chance The Rapper. The Chicago artist was pulled over on his way from church and sent out the whole stop live to his followers just in case he was mistreated by the police.
“I have great faith in humanity and the men and women that put on the badge, but, you know, you can’t be too careful,” he said to his followers. He continued:
“Again, lot of faith in the men and women, big faith in the men and women who put on the uniform. But policing as a system is disproportionately racist and oppressive. I’m with my baby, I ain’t got no burner in the car, no joints in the car. Nothing going on, just came back from church.”
