FDT! FDT! FDT!
On March 30, 2016 YG, along with Nipsey Hussle, released “FDT” (“F*** Donald Trump”) — a stiff f*** you to then-President-elect Donald Trump. The song was so successful that it motivated the Compton rapper to create a tour surround the election. YG toured 52 cities during his FDT tour from September to December — Trump won. During his shows, YG would bring out a Donald Trump piñata and let fans take a whack or four at it. YG also used the platform to give unregistered fans a chance to register to vote and purchase FDT merch as he raised awareness about the importance of voting and shined light on Trump’s vile intentions.
Well, it hasn’t even been a whole month for Trump in office and he’s already f***ing s*** up. With more than half the country protesting his position, “F*** Donald Trump” is the perfect song to blast right now. In fact, multiple radio stations blasted the anti-Trump song to thousands of listeners. The only thing is: They didn’t do it on purpose.
FDT Hits Airwaves
Listeners of various radio stations in various states were probably shocked as hell when they heard FDT come across the airwaves. On January 3, the anti-Trump song randomly interrupted normal broadcast. And I’m not talking about the radio version of the song.
Radio stations in Seattle, Louisville, and South Carolina finally complained that their signals were hijacked, as well as a TV cable provider in North Carolina. No word has been confirmed on whose done the hijacking, yet.
Played Over and Over
Salem, South Carolina’s WFBS-FM played the uncensored song in its entirety for at least 15 minutes. The station managers eventually sought after the problem and saw that their signal had too been hijacked.
