Are these girls going after married men?
Kristinia DeBarge is under fire this season, on Growing Up Hip Hop. Troy Turner (troystylez), hair stylist to Sandra “Pepa” Denton, has revealed a shocking allegation about the daughter of James DeBarge. She is pissed and firing back.
Exchanging p—y for tracks, has been a serious issue in the music industry. Male producers are often accused of taking advantage of struggling [female] artists on a regular basis. It seems the ‘casting-couch syndrome’, has struck again. In a recent episode of GUHHA, Troy was helping Pepa get ready for an event. Pep happened to be having a conversation with her niece, Tee Tee, and Kristinia’s name came up. The minute Troy heard her name he unleashed some serious fire on the singer. Now wasn’t that convenient?
“Don’t turn up with Kristinia too much. She gotta little rep, though,” he says. “She was sleeping with her married producer. This guy named Adonis. It was a big thing. No, the worst thing is that you’re skeein’ and people find out your business and you still don’t have a hit. That is the worst thing. No, it was a couple of producers.” We’ll give you a second to take that in.
Taurian Adonis Shropshire, better known as Adonis, is a songwriter / record producer. The Tennessee native, has been in the music industry since 2001. He’s written and / or produced singles for artists like, Usher, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé. The two have made numerous appearances together, and the streets of Hollywood are talking. Kristinia says, “That’s what you do when you work with someone.” She insists the two are just business partners, but everyone else is seeing something different.
It was the first time Pepa had heard these rumors and he felt bad for Kristinia. She doesn’t think female artist should have to sleep around to be successful. She thinks it’s best to have a conversation with Kristinia about it. Pepa tells Kristinia that Egypt (Pep’s daughter), is concerned about the rumors about Kristinia seeing Adonis. Which immediately puts Kristinia on defense. For some reason, she seems to think Briana is the only one spreading the rumors, but well table that for now.
“It just, like, upsets me. Because you know people talk s—t. Like, a lot of people call me fat. A lot of people say, oh she’s a party girl. A lot of people have said, oh she’s promiscuous. But like. I am so not that girl,” Kristinia says. “It’s just funny to me that like, you can’t just have a friend that’s close to you. Why do we have to ‘be sleeping together’?” Okay, valid point. But when Pepa goes on to ask how that dynamic works, that’s where it gets a little suspect.
“Well, he’s been in my life since I was 19. So, he’s like family. He’s my business partner. I take him everywhere with me. And he’s also married. And we’ve been working together. She knows that I’m his artist. So, she doesn’t, like, assume anything. And I like, I don’t really know her that well.” Kristinia says. Girl! Stop it! You’ve been working with this man for almost 10-years. He is with you everywhere. And you don’t really know his wife? If it looks sus, and sounds sus… it’s probably sus.
Later in the evening, the cast attend an event and guess who Kristinia brings? That’s right, Adonis. After all the rumors. In a previous conversation, between the Briana and Kristinia, Briana warned her about the Adonis rumors. Kristinia immediately took the defense and told her, “Don’t bring it up again.” Kristinia claims she has nothing to hide. She thinks, but Briana believes she is giving people a reason to talk. Briana pulls her aside to have a conversation and things get heated. Watch the clip.
Could this be the end of this friendship? Is Kristinia adding fuel to the fire by having Adonis everywhere? Kristinia took to Twitter about the rumors. “It’s NOT true. I have made some very important ppl angry (unintentionally) so it’s a smear campaign,” she says.
