This video is too crazy to believe.
Car transportation services like Lyft and Uber are a drunk girl’s knight in shining armor. They pick you up wherever you wound up at the end of the day or night and get you safely somewhere that you can sleep off your hangover. And they save you from having to awkwardly text friends you don’t really know to drive you home in the middle of the night.
But sometimes people forget that the drivers are people, too. And being drunk, grumpy, and in the car of a stranger doesn’t always mix. This ridiculously drunk girl who went off on her Lyft driver for no reason proves that point.
Dealing with Drunks
Lyft drivers aren’t robots. They’re real people, and normally they’re friendly enough and will chat with you while you ride. But many people don’t realize that drivers have the ability to kick out passengers if they’re being rambunctious or harmful, even if it’s in the middle of the ride. They also rank passengers just like we rank drivers, so if they have a rowdy passenger, they can tip off other drivers to not prioritize picking them up.
Apparently none of this stopped this girl from going totally crazy in the back of this Lyft driver’s car.
Out of Nowhere
The Lyft driver doesn’t turn on her camera until the altercation has already begun, so it’s not entirely clear how it started. But judging from the driver’s comments, the two of them didn’t really exchange many words before the passenger started going crazy.
The girl seems irrationally upset that the driver didn’t offer her a tissue — which she didn’t ask for — and begins wiping her nose on the driver’s seat cushion. That’s when things start to escalate.
You have to hand it to this driver for staying composed. The passenger seems to have her confused with someone else, calling her a “Princess” and saying that she’s “jealous of picking her up.” They only have 0.4 of a mile to go, and she clearly holds it together long enough to get the girl out of her car.
The girl pretends to be sick, blowing her nose and coughing into the seat cover, as the driver gets angrier, and then takes her argument in a totally different direction.
